2022 Disaster Relief - Nigeria Flooding Fund

About

Southern Nigeria is experiencing the worst flooding in a decade with numerous communities along the Niger and Benue rivers being inundated following particularly wet rainy season. According to the country’s humanitarian affairs ministry, over 600 people have died, thousands have been injured, and more than 1 million people have been displaced by floodwaters. In addition, more than 200,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed along with roads and other critical infrastructure. 108,000 hectares of farmland have been damaged raising concerns about Nigeria’s food supply. More flooding is expected in the coming month. Cisco Crisis Response is in contact with partners in the area to evaluate the needs for emergency communications. Cisco Foundation has launched a $25K Nigeria Flooding campaign to raise funds. Note on Tax Deductibility: This fund includes U.S.- based organizations.
