2020 Disaster Relief - Typhoon Molave Fund

Typhoon Molave struck the coast of central Vietnam on October 28, 2020 with wind gusts exceeding 100 mph and immense rainfall which set off a series of landslides that buried villages and towns. One of the biggest storms to hit the country in two decades, Typhoon Molave compounded problems from torrential rains and flooding that impacted the region just a few weeks earlier, which killed over 100 people and submerged hundreds of thousands of homes. Packing 85 mph winds, the typhoon left millions of people in the dark, and damaged or destroyed 89,000 additional homes. At least 47 people have been confirmed dead, with dozens more missing; the toll is expected to rise as rescue and recovery efforts continue. The Cisco Foundation has launched a $25,000 Typhoon Molave disaster campaign to support response efforts of Americares, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Oxfam-America, and Save the Children (US). Employee donations will be matched by Cisco Foundation, up to $10,000 per employee; and will not be counted toward employees' annual $25,000 match limit. **Note on Tax Deductibility: This fund may include organizations based in the US, and in other countries. US employees who make a credit card donation will receive a receipt for tax deductibility for the portion of the donation contributed to US organizations. Employees outside the US will not be able to receive a receipt for tax deductibility for credit card donations to organizations in this fund.**
